The Economy of the City

The administrative district Gölcük within Kocaeli administrative province is a typical naval city. The district is a host for the Turkish Navy and the Shipyard founded in 1926. The Navy had an important role for the city to develop in the history. Due to the ever-changing human profiles, a cultural mosaic came into being in the city. First of all that the Navy and the most extensive shipyard of our country are in the city accelerated the Gölcük city to develop in social, cultural and economic sense.
